Privacy
Private by design, not by promise.
No Tobsy server stores your entries, your figures or anything about your money. One small Tobsy server holds only your email, paired with your trial or purchase key: that is how a trial can end and a purchase stays yours.
No bank connections
Tobsy does not ask for a bank login and does not sync an account.
Your data is a Google Sheet you own
Every entry lives in a spreadsheet in your own Google Drive.
No Tobsy server stores your money data
Your entries go only to your own Google account.
Screenshots are read on your device
The image is not sent anywhere.
No telemetry, no tracking, no account
The app carries no analytics and no ad pixels.
How that works
Private categories are a curtain, not a vault. A category you mark private shows its rows as dots until a PIN is entered.
Exchange rates come from inside your sheet. Foreign spending is converted with a Google Finance formula, so even that does not go through us.
Who holds what
In your own Google account. Nowhere else.
Tobsy has no database.
Questions
The things people ask first.
Does private mean offline?
No. Your entries live in a Google Sheet in your own Google account, so they reach it over the internet. An entry made without a connection waits in the queue, and a small cache on your device lets screens open quickly.
Is my data encrypted?
Your entries are stored by Google, in a Google Sheet in your own Drive; no Tobsy server stores them, so there is no copy of ours to protect. Tobsy asks Google for one permission: to work in that one spreadsheet. On your phone or laptop the rows are not encrypted, and a private category is a curtain, not a vault.
Thirty days free
Try it, or look around first.
The demo is the real app with fourteen months of sample entries. The trial is every screen, for thirty days, with your own.
About ten minutes to set up, once, on a computer. You’ll need a Google account. A$59 after the trial, if you want to keep it.
