Questions

The things people ask first.

Is this the same as Splitwise or Tricount?

Not quite. Splitwise and Tricount are built for splitting bills and working out who owes whom. Tobsy does that part too, with who fronted what and the settle-up, inside a spending tracker: categories, each person’s share, shared intentions and goals.

What if we earn different amounts?

Set the split to suit, 55/45 or any other share, as one split for everything or a different one per category. Each of you sees your own share. Income stays personal; the household sees the sum of yours.

Do we need a shared bank account?

No. Tobsy has no bank connection at all, so it does not matter whose card paid. The household ledger keeps count of who fronted what, and works out the settle-up for you.
