The deal, in plain words.
Short, because there isn't much to it. Using Tobsy means you're happy with what's on this page.
What Tobsy is
Tobsy is a spending-awareness app. It runs in your browser and stores what you enter in a Google Sheet in your own Google account. It is not a bank, not financial advice, and not a substitute for either. The figures it shows are the figures you entered; it is only as complete as you keep it.
The free trial
- Thirty days, from the day you start, with nothing held back.
- It needs an email address and nothing else — no card, no password.
- On day thirty-one the app stops until it is paid for. Everything you entered stays in your sheet, and you can download all of it whether you pay or not.
- One trial per email address. A new address starts a new, empty trial.
Buying Tobsy
- One payment, once. The price shown at the checkout is the whole price. There is no subscription, no renewal, and no expiry.
- Payment is taken by our merchant of record, who issues your receipt and handles any tax that applies where you are.
- You receive a key. The key allows one copy of the sheet to run at a time. Setting up a fresh copy with the same key moves the key to the new copy; the old one stops.
- A household — two people sharing one sheet — needs one key, not two.
- The key is for you. Passing it around is the one thing that will make it stop working for you.
Refunds
Ask, and we'll talk. Refunds are given on request within a reasonable time of purchase, and we don't make you argue for one. A refund stops the app the next time it is opened; your sheet and your data stay yours, and you can still download everything. Nothing in this section limits any rights you have under the consumer law where you live, including the Australian Consumer Law.
What you can expect from us
- A paid copy keeps working for good, whether or not we do. Nothing in it expires.
- We may improve Tobsy over time. Where an improvement needs a change to your copy, the app tells you and you choose when.
- We may stop offering Tobsy for sale. That does not affect a copy already paid for.
- Support is by email, from a person, in reasonable time. It is not a guarantee of a fix on any particular day.
What we ask of you
- Keep your Google account and your copy of the sheet safe. They are yours, and only you can look after them.
- Don't use Tobsy for anything unlawful, and don't try to break it, rebuild it without its licence check, or resell it.
- Understand that the app depends on Google Sheets and Google Apps Script, which Google runs and may change. We build for how they work today.
Limits
Tobsy is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for loss that follows from relying on figures in it, from a change Google makes to its services, or from anything outside our reasonable control. Where the law doesn't allow that limit — and in Australia the consumer guarantees apply regardless of it — our liability is limited to what the law permits, which for a product like this is generally the cost of supplying it again or refunding it.
Changes to these terms
If we change them, the date below changes, and a change that affects an existing purchase will be told to you by email. The terms you bought under keep applying to that purchase.
